What does a Pigtails & Cowlicks Team Member do?

+ RECEIVING/CHECKING ITEMS

You will check each item brought in by the Consignor to make sure that it is clean and in good condition, is not out-of-date, and is properly hung and tagged. This is not a position for the meek; you must be willing to turn away items that are not acceptable, which occasionally makes the Consignor unhappy! Attention to detail and an assertive personality are a must!

+ CHECKOUT

Assists with checkout so that all items are scanned and accounted for. Positions possible are scanning tags, bagging items, assisting shoppers with getting items to check-out table, and handling payment.

+ FLOOR ORGANIZER

Tasks to be performed may include: being out on the sales floor to answer questions and serve as a deterrent to theft, hanging merchandise, organizing the tables, and just being available to help where needed.

+ CARRYOUT

Our shoppers like to buy LOTS of items for their kiddos, and sometimes it is too much for one Mama to carry. Also, it seems the smaller the child, the bigger their items are! You will use our carts to help shoppers carry their items to their vehicles.

+ DOOR MANAGEMENT/GREETER

You will be the first and last person a shopper sees! With a warm smile, you will greet shoppers when they arrive and explain the sale (if needed). When leaving, you will work with Carryout Team Member to make sure that all purchased items can be carried to shoppers’ vehicles with ease.

+ SETUP/BREAKDOWN

We need strength on our team!!! Sign up yourself or your man. Help is needed moving racks and tables as well as setting up and breaking down the sales floor.

+ Why does Pigtails & Cowlicks need Team Members?

The heartbeat of this event is our team! We are a family of five that could not pull off this awesome community event without amazing folks to come alongside of us and pitch in and serve shoppers, Consignors, and other Team Members.

+ WHY SHOULD I BE A PIGTAILS & COWLICKS TEAM MEMBER?

Other than just being cool, there are two great reasons!

  1. You get to shop early!! The earlier you shop, the better the selection, and we thank Team Members with the privilige of shopping first.
  2. You will earn $21.75 for each three hour shift your complete! Your time is precious, and we thank you for choosing to give us a portion of it. Checks will be mailed within two weeks after the sale.

+ WHO CAN BE A TEAM MEMBER?

Anyone with a warm smile and willing spirit over the age of 16!

+ HOW DO I REGISTER AND SELECT A SHIFT?

+ THERE ARE JUST A FEW SPOTS LEFT - HOW DID THEY FILL UP SO FAST?

Once someone signs up to be a Team Member, they want to be part of the fun again and again. If you see an opening, sign up NOW so you can be part of the inner circle of awesomeness.

+ I'M PREGNANT, NURSING OR HAVE OTHER PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS. CAN I STILL BE A TEAM MEMBER?

Again, if you’ve got the smile and desire to help, we’d love to have you! We can make accommodations for anyone that would like to be on our team. Please contact us when you select your shift so we can decide the best way to adapt for your situation.

+ CAN I BRING MY KIDS DURING MY SHIFT?

We ask that if you have children, please leave them in the care of someone else during your work shift. Our Team Member roles will require your focused attention. Perhaps you can trade childcare with a friend, so you can both work and both earn the Team Member Presale Pass!

+ WHAT SHOULD I WEAR FOR MY TEAM MEMBER SHIFT?

Our best advice is, “Dress for comfort!” Wear your shoes with lots of support, as you’ll spend lots of time on your feet. You’ll have the option of wearing an apron with pockets while you’re there, so your shirt can even have stains on it.

+ WILL I BE ABLE TO TAKE A QUICK BREAK DURING MY SHIFT?

We will do the best we can to rotate Team Members taking a few minutes to prop their feet up and recharge. There are times when the sales floor is absolutely insane, and we may not remember to check in with you. Please let us know at any time if you need a break, and we will certainly make it happen.

+ WHAT HAPPENS IF MY SCHEDULE CHANGED AND I CAN'T MAKE MY SHIFT?

We get it – things happen, and kids get strep throat. If you find you cannot come to your scheduled time, and it is before the until the “window” is closed (usually the weekend before the event) you can change your time the same way you initially signed up, which is here. If it is during sale week, we ask that you first try to find someone that can take your place. If not, please contact us know so we will not contact you! Failure to show up and not let us know will result in you being restricted from being a Team Member for future sales. Please understand that these guidelines have been put into place to maintain a high quality sale.
